International Syalons are delighted to receive two awards at the British Ceramic Confederation health and safety Pledge conference and awards event in Stoke-on-Trent on 12th October 2022.
The BCC Pledge is an initiative promoting and sharing good health and safety practices across the UK ceramic industries, including technical ceramics and refractories, traditional pottery, tableware and whitewares, and construction products such as bricks, drainage pipes, a tiles.
The first award was for International Syalons’ QHS Engineer, Mark Earle, who received special recognition for his excellent attitude towards all aspects of health and safety within the business. Since joining in 2018, he has dramatically improved factory working environments and employee attitudes towards health and safety.
The second award within the ‘Risk Assessment, Design, Maintenance and Engineering’ category was for The implementation of a comprehensive initiative to improve grinding fluid control. The judges gave particular praise for such a “proactive, thorough, and well thought out initiative”.
International Syalons remain committed to improving the working conditions for all employees, and look forward to continuing to support the BCC’s Health and Safety Pledge throughout Phase 5.
